Who is God? - know the Truth.

Of all the questions you ask yourself during this life it is probable that the most important ones will be inherently spiritual.

“Why am I here? Who is God? What happens when I die?”

In the pages to come we will be dealing with who God is, and how that affects our life and the life to come. If you want to know God - really know the truth - this page is for you. Its message is true and its words are reliable.

“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
                                                        - Jesus Christ

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:3)

1st
Truth

 God is Holy

This means God is absolutely pure. He is infinitely righteous and perfect in all respects.

Because God is holy His moral standard for our lives is also absolute purity. Just as it is written;
“You shall be holy, for I the LORD Your God am holy.” (Leviticus 19:2)
And Jesus declared; “You shall be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew5:48)

We know what God’s holiness requires because He has revealed His laws to us in the Bible. But even if we didn’t have the Bible God has written His laws in our hearts so that none of us can say we didn’t know right from wrong. (Romans 2:14,15)

FACT: God’s Law in our hearts is commonly referred to as our conscience. Conscience literally means “with knowledge.” Every time we break God’s Law we do so “with knowledge” that we’re doing wrong and our conscience bears witness to this fact.

“God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” (Psalm 7:11)

2nd
Truth

 God is Just

This means that God is a good judge.

In a civil court, a good judge must punish those who break the law. If a judge turns a blind eye towards injustice he is simply not a good judge. In a similar way God is the perfect judge and will one day judge each of us in absolute righteousness. Not one broken law will be overlooked.

When we break God’s Law we do what the Bible calls “sin.” This is serious in the eyes of an infinitely holy and just God. So serious is this offense that the Bible declares that “the wages of sin are death” (Romans 6:23). Because we’ve sinned against the eternal holy God, the punishment is accordingly severe. We are justly sentenced to spiritual death and eternal punishment in a place the Bible calls Hell.

FACT: Your sin is separating you from God. If you don’t think you’ve broken enough laws to anger God, think again. James 2:10 says that “whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.” You don’t have to break a multitude of God’s commandments to be a lawbreaker. Just break ONE and justice will demand punishment.

“But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

3rd
Truth

 God is Love

Because God is holy & just He can’t merely overlook sin. Sin must be punished. But, because God is love He offers to do something wonderful for you. HE WILL TAKE THE PUNISHMENT UPON HIMSELF! 2000 years ago God the Father sent His eternal Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life that you couldn’t live and die the death you should rightfully die! God cannot forgive you merely because you’re sorry but He can forgive you on the basis that Jesus took your punishment on the cross at Calvary.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“Christ died for our sins, just as the scriptures said. He was buried, and He was raised from the dead on the third day” (1 Cor. 15:3,4 NLT).

God proved Jesus is the Savior of the world by raising Him to life! If you repent (turn from sin to God) and believe fully upon Jesus for forgiveness, God will adopt you as His beloved child and give you everlasting life in Heaven (John 1:12).

FACT: Just to agree intellectually with these facts is not enough. For example, I can agree intellectually with the fact that parachutes work. However, if I fail to put the parachute on my intellectual belief will not save me while jumping out of an airplane. I must put on the parachute in order to be saved. In the same way intellectually agreeing with the facts of Christianity will not save you. You must put on Jesus Christ in order to be saved from sin & judgment. How do we do this..?

BY FAITH WE MUST RECEIVE (PUT ON) JESUS CHRIST AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR & LORD. ONLY THEN WILL WE EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS.

“Therefore having been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

“But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12)

The process of putting on a parachute is an act of the will. By doing so you place personal faith in its ability to save you - not merely agree that its saving properties are true. Similarly, placing saving faith in Jesus Christ is an act of the will. When you trust Christ you acknowledge your personal dependence upon Him to save you - not merely agree that His saving ability is true.

FACT: You can know with absolute certainty you will go to heaven if you are willing to repent and receive God’s love & forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

The following explains how you can receive Christ:

YOU CAN RECEIVE CHRIST RIGHT NOW BY FAITH THROUGH PRAYER:
God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

Lord Jesus, I need You. I realize that I’m sinful and I need you to save me. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Today I’m trusting you as my Savior & Lord. Come into my life and make me the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart?

If it does, I invite you to pray this prayer right now and God will forgive you and adopt you as His precious child.
