Pastors

Robert Ramsay, Sr Pastor

Bob was raised in East Longmeadow, MA and is a graduate of that town's public schools.  As a child and teen he attended the First Baptist Church of East Longmeadow.  It's Sunday school taught him basic Bible knowledge, and through an evangelistic service he received Christ as Savior at the age of 14.  Through the ministry of a fine pastor and an excellent Christian youth group he was discipled and called to ministry.  Bob graduated from Bob Jones University, where he met his wife, Ginny.  After their graduation and wedding in 1970, they moved to Philadelphia where Bob attended Biblical Theological Seminary and interned at the Whitehall Baptist Church of Northeast Philadelphia.  In 1971 he assisted his Father-in-law, Rev John Spare, who was interim Pastor at the Lawndale Baptist Church.  When Pastor Spare was transferred to Jackson, TN in 1972, the church voted to retain Bob as pastor.
Throughout the next 30 years, Bob and Ginny have witnessed God's blessings on their home with the birth of four children: Heather, Jonathan, Jeremy, and Beth; and blessing upon Lawndale Baptist Church in so many ways.  Among the many passages of God's Word that comfort, convict, or challenge is Lamentations 3:22-23, "through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: Great is Thy Faithfulness."
